Two time IFTA winner and European Academy-nominated director Cathy Brady will give a directors masterclass at NYU’s Glucksman Ireland House in New York on Saturday October 3rd at 11am.


Cathy Brady is a two-time IFTA winner, having won Best Short in 2011 for her first film SMALL CHANGE, and again in 2013 for her short MORNING, which was also selected for the BFI London Film Festival 2012 and won the Short Film Nominee prize for the European Film Awards at Cork Film Festival. In 2011 Cathy was selected for Coming Up, making ROUGH SKIN for Channel4, starring This is England’s Vicky McClure and which was nominated for a BIFA. Her most recent short WASTED competed at the 2013 Edinburgh International Film Festival.

Last year Cathy directed on E4’s drama-thriller series GLUE, and is now in development with her debut feature as writer/director WILDFIRE, which Carlo Cresto-Dina (THE WONDERS, Cannes Grand Jury Prize 2014) will produce along with Cowboy Films. She is also developing a new TV comedy series, CAN’T COPE/WON’T COPE, with writer Stefanie Preissner for Dead Pan Pictures and RTE.
